Default Ember Light Henchies Rule!!!

The last 2 nights I've wanted to go out and collect elites to build my character up. So Monday night I take out henchies... great time, cleaned out the entire area with maybe 1 death (poor Thom!) and picked up 2 elites. I even ended up doing the quest in the area just because I had cleaned it all out...

So last night, I've just entered the game and see a group calling out for more to go skill hunting. Cool, I think... a group of players should rip through this in half the time I took with the henchies.

Boy was I wrong.

Totally, completely, annihilated. One battle had been going on for 10 minutes (10 minutes?!) and some idiot still hadn't managed to capture the skill from a boss (in a two boss fight), and the team were starting to die... "Forget this" I shouted "we have to take these guys out NOW, we're getting killed."

"I haven't got my skill yet."

"No time, too late, we're all gonna die soon--take em down."

"No, I need my skill."

1 minute later we were all dead.

Forget this, I thought, I'm going to go grab henchies. 30 mins later and I have 2 more elites.

Those henchies rule!!!

I see two big advantages with henchmen. The first is that they'll follow you around exactly, so you don't have to worry about morons pulling mobs that you don't want to be pulled. The second is that they're consistent. They act similarily in many different situations. Alesia won't misclick and use the wrong Monk spell.

Some elites are very situational and take a while to capture. You shouldn't assume that everybody can get their elite right off the bat like you're apparently doing. And henches are sometimes hard to control, especially when dodging hydras and other nasties. They tend to dive in and get killed, rather than carefully avoid the situation, not to mention it's really hard to pull away from a losing battle with henches.
